Fun at the Fete

It was the village fete today which was fabulous!
There were go-carts, zorbing, a coconut shy, a crockery smash (which the Little Misses LOVED!), a BBQ, grown up and kiddie tombolas, Maypole and Morris dancing, cake and tea. Perfect!!
We had a lovely couple of hours there before coming home to take Archie for a long walk across the fields. It was beautiful! Blue sky, fluffy blue clouds, Little Misses and bouncy Archie in the cornfields!
Then it was home to some film-making in the garden. The Little Misses had planned out the story and then enlisted Mr K and I to perform along with them.
All filmed on Mr K's iPhone, it involved a mad evil powerful villain who thinks that all butterflies are evil and should be destroyed. At one point Mr K and I were playing pitchfork wielding peasants following  behind her waving our "pitchforks" (garden fork and broom) and shouting "Kill all the butterflies!!!", "Kill them all!!!"  and jeering. God knows what the neighbours made of it!!!
We had to put Miss L in prison, Archie had to fetch her the key so she could escape, I chased her round the garden with the hose as she battled her way through a storm. It was brilliant!!!!
Apparently it's going to be an ongoing project as the plot has many more twists and turns to come!!
Miss L announced tonight before bed that it has been a lovely family day.
She's right!
