Spam, Spam, Spam

Coincidence or not, today marks the 80th anniversary of the first can of spam rolling off the production line.  A little anecdote in history but for us here at Blipfoto it coincided with reports of lots of new advertising journals being created.  We get new journals popping up from time to time for this purpose and generally we deal with them quickly.  On this occasion it was more widespread and the browse pages took on a very unusual look.  We believe this was an automated spam attack.

We've suspended all of the offending journals.  We don't expect it to have affected any of your accounts, but if anyone does experience anything unusual please contact us via the Helpdesk.  We have put in place additional measures with the intention of preventing a similar thing happening again.

Thanks for everyone that reported the posts or contacted us via the helpdesk, it really helped to get on top of this as quickly as possible.
