Torch Ginger Flower, Botanic Gardens, Singapore

Day 7

Etlingera elatior, in the Ginger Garden. A favourite spot of mine. I love the waterfall (extra). There is a path behind it. It reminds me of Lytham St Anne's gardens, and summer visits there to my grandparents.

Our second visit here, and again the heavens opened. We sat for three hours until the tropical storm, thunder and lightning passed by. Chicken rice, and cups of Jasmin, Ginger, and Chrysanthemum tea were enjoyed. We also made progress on the Peter May books we are reading.

We did manage to visit some parts of the vast gardens which were new to us, including the recently opened Learning Forest. Beautiful orchids, a lake, and new paths.

Delicious food when we got back, including fresh green veg just picked from the garden cooked in an omelette. Spinach with Wolf Berries, and Garlic. Must stock up on these berries, and take some home.
