Betty Corning

The clematis "Betty Corning" thrives and grows well at our balcony. It is interesting to see how she cling to one and other. It already has flower buds (very tiny) and I'm waiting with excitement to see them grow and finally open out.
I wonder who Betty Corning is/were, but on google I find nothing.
