Wanderings & Witterings

Bochastle

What a difference a day makes! The rain of Tuesday had been replaced by sunshine and warm temperatures for our Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers walk on Wednesday around Kilmahog, Callander (see extra photo) and Bochastle.

Maybe just as well, for at just short of 15km this was one of our longer Wednesday walks. It really was an excellent walk, with a wide variety of scenery and all on very good paths and tracks.

Starting near Kilmahog, we first walked into Callander and then up into Coilhallan Wood before looping round and down towards Bochastle. Entering the Glen Finglas Estate we then walked up towards (but not on) Ben Ledi before joining the Ben Ledi track down and finally a riverside walk back towards the car park.

Unlike many forest walks, extensive tree felling and replanting allowed us some fine views of the Trossachs. The other extra photo is of Loch Lubnaig, taken on our descent on the Ben Ledi path.

All-in-all, our post-ramble coffee was well-earned!
