The Birds and the Bees

As it was a nice sunny day today I thought I would go out into the garden to capture some bird or bee shots. Normally at this time of year the fuschia bush is positively buzzing with life but the only bee that graced us with his presence hid away in the interior of the bush. However, I was grateful to capture a least one decent shot of a hoverfly as they tend to buzz around quite quickly.

As it is a few days since I filled the bird feeder I was perhaps a little optimistic that as soon as I filled them up the birds would come flocking back. However we did get one visitor, a great tit who spent most of his time in the fir tree sussing out whether it was safe to fly to the feeder. All the easier for me to capture him/her in a more natural habitat ( see extra ).
