Baking

Backblip

We had a lovely day with Miss K, Miss M and Miss A today.
We went over early and as usual as soon as we got there the girls all disappeared off to do their own thing and Miss K and I chatted and drank tea!
It was my first time seeing their fabulous new extension and, as ever, I marvel at how such a relatively small addition can add so much to a house. New downstairs shower room and utility and a lovely new double height room with doors out on the garden which has been completely shelved out for books. And stuff!!!
I'm very jealous!
We cycled and scooted to the park and then came home for them to disappear "round the block". Miss E loves the freedom she has at Miss K's house!!
After lunch as usual the girls decided they wanted to bake. I popped to Aldi for ingredients and first of all Miss A and Miss L made delicious flapjack, then Miss E and Miss M made a chocolate Victoria sponge!!
They wanted to do it completely alone and without help (or apparently a Victoria sponge recipe!!)
The end result was AMAZING!!!! They made sponges, filled it withe Nutella and then smothered the top in Nutella and broken up Twix. It was delicious and pretty impressive for ten and nine year olds on their own!
It made me smile looking back at this from two years ago. They're growing up!
