Agapanthus with thrips

At last we've had some more rain, just in time to rescue some of our flagging garden plants, and make the soil suitable for some planting out. One genus that really doesn't mind the drought is Agapanthus, also known as African Lily. This rather soggy specimen was snatched from the garden just before dark and photographed on the lightpad. It wasn't until I photographed it that I realised there was a whole family of baby thrips sheltering inside!
