A glimpse of Paradise

Photo taken about 6.30pm today as we reluctantly left the beach - we were both ravenous, and there was a 20 minute walk to the car followed by an hour's driving over single-track roads before we would be home. But on a day like today, it's so hard to leave that fine, pale sand, the absurd sandbanks left by the receding tide, that strip of blue sea and above all the silhouette of my favourite island filling the horizon.

Even the wind was warm today as the temperature reached 25 celsius. The only slight downer was the sea temperature: I couldn't resist a swim and had to curtail it because the water was so cold I thought of having a heart attack so far from everything.

And there is absolutely no mobile phone coverage in this corner of Paradise ...
