Small Places

Two views of Shetland

For today, I have chosen a couple of views from our holiday cottage at Gulberwick. The first is the steep road into the village, taken in the early evening. The scattering of small houses across a hillside seems the essence of Shetland to me.

The second is looking out to sea in the morning, looking across Ness of Trebister to the cliffs of Bressay.  It's just possible to make out an arch (Giant's Leg?) in the distance.

I could have taken these views almost any of the days we were here; they were a regular delight.
