Common And Accommodating

Weather still cool, dull and damp. This butterfly, which I think is a female common blue, perched on a grass stem for ages allowing me to get as close as my lens would focus. I've included it in its entirety in extras.

Today's poem is August 1914 by Issac Rosenburg. http://ww1lit.nsms.ox.ac.uk/ww1lit/collections/item/3265

The Great War broke out on this day in 1914. IR enlisted because he thought the separation allowance would help his mother. He hated the army but hoped that the experience of war would feed his poetry. He was killed in a dawn raid on April 1st 1918. I like, "The heart's dear granary."
