Cleaned Up

Sometimes it's necessary to be on time.

I only missed the first few overs of the match (having got waylaid by walking a certain dog), but unlike the last two weeks when the result of the game hung in the balance to the very end, today it was pretty much all over as a contest by the time I arrived. Thackley, playing at home, were 8-4 as I cycled up, then 8-5 before I'd parked the bike. That soon became 16-7! Almost as if it was decided that we should give our batsmen a bit of a run out, we throttled back with the ball and let them slog their way to a final total of 74, off only 14 overs! It was all a bit village at the end.

I was called upon to score our own innings, something I've not done in many years, and may not offer to do again too soon. It taxed my powers of concentration considerably, and my eyesight! We got the runs for the loss of only three wickets, Forrest scoring 30 not out, to continue his run of good form. He looked in fine touch. It was almost a shame the opposition hadn't scored more! Only joking lads

This is a shot of the last wicket taken by Rob, who grabbed seven in total. My timing was as good as Forrest's today!
