Symonds Yat

We went to Symonds Yat Rock this morning. Not to be confused with Symonds Yat of maze and butterfly zoo fame, Yat Rock is an area in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Welsh/English border consisting of forest area with waymarked walks and excellent viewpoints over the River Wye.

There is also a car park, loos and a log cabin cafe which serves coffee, paninis and all day veggie breakfast amongst other delights.

We went up to the viewpoint with wonderful views of the Wye and surrounding countryside for miles around. After lunch at the cabin we went of one of the waymarked walks.

On leaving Symonds Yat Rock we headed for Abergavenny for a look round and a coffee at Cafe Nero. Tea this evening was at a very good Indian Balti House close to our accommodation.
