flying high...

...is a hummer

that's right

i actually caught a hummingbird - flitting about the evergreens today - i heard him, then saw that unmistakable flash - you know the one i'm talking about - i didn't have time to change the settings on my camera - because i knew if i took the time - he'd then be long gone - so i left them from the last time hoping against hope - they wouldn't be too far off - and then managed to snap off only several shots before - losing sight of him - hummers just fly so darned fast - and in the gleam of sunlight it makes it that much - more difficult to see them amidst branches - however i got fortunate with a couple of shots - one flying high and one flying low (see extra)

i certainly don't claim either of these to be perfect - they miss the mark by a long way - but it's not often i am able to post a hummingbird - in my journal pages so it's really more for the wonderful memory - the experience of the 'hunt' with my camera per se - for which i am posting this picture - seeing these tiny birds makes my soul sing - and also soothes it like none other - and that makes it worth putting up something that has some flaws - i know that in those impurities i can still find...
