"River" Aire, Skipton

Another journey across the Pennines. Originally didn't know I was going to return quite so soon. Couldn't face the M62 after last time so decided on the A65 Skipton road. Not sure that was the best decision given the weather, alth0ugh it made for an interesting journey! A boat would have been a better form of transport at times.

Suddenly came across this view of all the flooding, just before Skipton. Pulled in to take a photo and dashed out of the car with camera. After drying the camera and lens for the nth time between taking photos it suddenly dawned on me that it was pouring with rain and I didn't have a coat on, I was drenched! Finally realised that blip has become a serious addiction!

On that note, I have just realised that I have completed one full month without missing a blip!

Got to Ilkley and found the A65 closed. Quick recalculation took me over Ilkley Moor and past the Cow and Calf rocks, haven't been there for years. Turned off the moor too early and headed into Burley in Wharfedale just as the traffic news told me the A660 was closed as well as the A65 due to severe flooding. Thanks to "Tim" the Tomtom I was able to recalculate again, even avoiding the uphill traffic jam that was getting away from the flood (thanks Tim). Interesting journey!
