Admirable

Quite a few butterflies around at the moment, especially on the Buddleia (where else). When I was a youngster, the Red Admiral was one of the two butterflies I could name (not including the "Cabbage White") the other being Small Tortoiseshell. Then they seemed to disappear. Although like most of our butterflies, they are probably struggling, at least they are regular visitors to the garden nowadays, weather permitting. I think they are probably my favourite of the larger butterflies they have such dramatic colours and an attractive underwing.
