Garnethill Synagogue

The final day of Glasgow Open Doors ..... my final visit for this year was to the Garnethill Synagogue and it certainly is at the top of a hill with wonderful views over the city. The views won't disappear so they may well appear in a future blip.

The focal point of the Synagogue is the Holy Ark, set in an apse in the Eastern Wall, facing Jerusalem. The Ark houses the Torah Scrolls in which the Five Books of Moses are hand written on parchment.

The domed window above the Ark was looking its best as the sun shone through the intricately patterned glass.
