Where the Light Gets In

That guy!

lunchtime with cyrille
always good conversation
and those blue blue eyes

My noontime appointment was fine; I'll have their final word by next week, but there's no reason why it shouldn't be what I've been expecting, as today's meeting confirmed mutual intentions/abilities.

After that - clever me! - I had planned to meet Cyrille for lunch. We hadn't seen each other in three months, so lots to catch up on! The whole summer, basically. We shared news of what we did during those months, and also talked about films we saw recently.

Yesterday, we saw a French film by André Téchiné called "Our Roaring Twenties", based upon the true story of Paul and Louise Grappe. During WWI, Paul shoots his right forefinger to try and avoid going back to the front lines. He spends a few months in hospital but is then sent back to fight. He becomes a deserter and is hidden in a cellar by his wife. After a little while, to allow him to get out of his "cell", his wife proposes that he dress as a woman. He becomes Suzanne at night... and soon starts prostituting himself... Years later, his story becomes a cabaret show in which he plays his own part.

More Cyrille.
