Asiatic Lion

As a change from flowers, I took myself off to the Cotswold Wildlife Park today and spent a pleasant day roaming round this compact zoo set around a country house and gardens - think Rhinos on the front lawn!

One of the last enclosures I discovered contained this splendid specimen of a lion, with his "wife" and three "teenage children".  These lions, which are smaller than the more well known African Lion, are endangered with less than 500 animals in the wild, and 100 or so in captivity - so I guess the youngsters bred here are somewhat special.
