Male Chaffinch

Or as we used to call them "when I were a lad" a Scoppie.   I have no idea of the reason or derivation of the name., all I know is we all spoke Cumberland dialect and they were (in our world at least) universally known as Scoppies.

Not much to record for the day mainly getting ready for a trip up to Edinburgh to visit Katkatkat and help with some jobs on her allotment.
