Cockpit

Off to the Lyceum to see a production of Cockpit. Originally produced in 1948 this tale of a disparate and desperate theatre full of "displaced persons" in post-war Germany has a new resonence in today's fractured Europe.

The action takes place across the stage and auditorium with a chunk of the audience sitting on the stage watching from within and behind the actors. That's why this picture comes from behind the procenium arch rather from in front of it.
