Mytholmroyd - Then and Now

I was in Mytholmroyd this morning taking a few photographs of how the flood defence work was progressing.  The heavy rain of this afternoon reminded me of the serious flooding that hit Hebden Bridge & Mytholmroyd on Boxing Day 2015.
The Flood Defence people have been working non stop for the last two years - and there is still much to do.
My 'before' Blip was taken just 5 days before the flood hit.  The shops with lights on were the local Post Office and a Gents Barber Shop.
They were very badly damaged and have now been demolished - along with some other riverside buildings.
My 'now' Blip is taken from the same spot - approximately.  You can see how much work has been done.
Let's hope this rain eases before long.

UPDATE:  19:00 The Flood Warning Siren has just sounded. We're ok where we live -  fingers crossed for the folks down by the river.
UPDATE: SUNDAY 10:00.  There was some flooding, but nothing like 2015. River levels subsiding. Heavy rain eased, but it's still raining.
