Orkney coo

Coo ... some view! This was today's weather, West Mainland getting a glimmer today with an ethereal light.
We had such a nice blipmeet with Happy Valley and PorridgeWog; they introduced us to another cafe with a great outlook and very good cake and the coffee hopefully woke us all up a bit ;-) Thank you, people - and your amazing woofs!
We made our familiar trip to Birsay, admiring PW's wonderful house signage on the way (beautiful, carved into stone) and stopping for the coo view. Poppydog and I had a wander near the Brough of Birsay (see her impression of 'Venus Rising from the Sea').
A run past The Loons bird hide; action-packed there with a motionless heron. Oh, and a Gadwall and some Mallards. But gorgeous light over the reedbeds (extra).
Back via the garden centre and then an hour or so of light to get daff bulbs in (fingers crossed it's not too late). Lots of prior prep beforehand so a glass of red feels well deserved tonight.
