The Bracelet Sculpture near Saltburn

Today we explored Saltburn by the Sea just south of Redcar and the very industrial Middlesbrough.
We walked along Huntcliff above Saltburn towards Staithes- we literally were on the cliff edge and it was very very blustery. It was bleak but beautiful. I had read about some sculptures on a crochet blog by Lucy at Attic24 so I was determined to find them although they turned out to be much further than I had anticipated.
They are made of steel to represent the local industry and the 'charms' seen in this picture represent a story each from local folklore. They are by Richard Farrington and were put there in 1990.
The other sculptures represent the local fishing industry and earth, sky and water.
The walk certainly blew the cobwebs away!
