Caen Hill (Thursday 26th October 2017)

Yesterday I was stuck at home waiting for a parcel, tomorrow I will be stuck at home waiting for a parcel, so today I grabbed the opportunity to get out.

This blip comes from Caen Hill at the end of the afternoon. I'd parked in Marsh Lane and walked up the flight as far as the Moorings beyond the café at the top and back. There were more Canada geese in total in the side ponds than I'd ever seen there at one time before, as well as quite a few black headed gulls in non breeding plumage, two herons and the swan family (with one of the cygnets lower down the flight than the rest of the family). There were quite a few narrowboats about, but none going through the locks.

One of the herons was still where he had been on the return walk and provided my blip.

Heron - Upon Reflection (1970)
Heron recorded both their albums out of doors in Berkshire fields, so the backgrounds include birds singing in the privet hedges. As well as being on their album Heron, this was included on the compilation Dust On The Nettles.
