Water of Leith

At the very western edge of the Pentland Hills Regional Park lies Harperrig Reservoir. The Water of Leith flows through this reservoir and here it is entering at the western end. The fishing season at Harperrig is closed for this year now and the little boats are all tied up. We did see a swimmer in the water though - must have been terribly cold. The trees here are what's known as the Woodpecker Walk and just beyond the mature trees lies one of the five recently planted Pentlands' Arboreta of Scotland's native trees.

A beautiful autumn day - cold but very bright and sunny. Perfect for a walk.
