GOOD COMPANIONS

Our sacrifice is complete - 
     we have served the purpose 
          for which we were raised 
               and another generation
                    will take over
                         next year 
while we 
     gently
          return 
               to 
                    the 
                         soil.

After I had written the above, I was reminded me of these verses - learning Scripture when I was young and bringing verses back to mind is very helpful and part of my life as a Christian.

As for me, the hour has come 
     for me to be sacrificed; 
          the time is here for me to leave this life. 
I have done my best in the race, 
     I have run the full distance, 
          and I have kept the faith.
