The Wednesday Woodland

Before we headed off travelling at the start of October we nipped in to Westonbirt Arboretum to catch some early autumn colour in the Acer plantations. I was sure by the time we got back it'd all be over. But no.

Look 'large'. The sunlight through this copse of Acers is treemendous! Although for sure some of the earlier displays are now turning gently to compost, other trees are yet to fully explore their seasonal firework colours. It's a never ending journey within this huge woodland reservation.

In other news my rant yesterday was picked up by the local press. Others have shared their own pictures of mud clods and rocks. I gather someone has had a friendly word with someone at Bellways public relations department and wonders are afoot... we'll see.

Of course, it never ends, and today brought a notification from the county council that the operative who opens, cleans and locks up our public conveniences has been so verbally harassed by youths that the once more vandalised toilets are likely to remain out of action for now and once repaired opened for reduced hours.

And despite this, my village is a lovely one. It's just, occasionally you might not believe it.
