Golden Oldies

A stop at the post office this morning, then off to a day of meetings at work before meeting Helle for some dog training.

We worked Hero, Jazz, Gollum and Ex-it and then it was time for the oldies.

This is (from left) Biscuit, Doggie and Cookie. They are all partly or fully retired from competitions (Biscuit does still compete in the senior class), but in their younger days, they were top dogs and they have all represented Denmark at several important competitions and championships.

Biscuit was the first dog to represent Denmark at Crufts (in 2007) and he has top placings from Crufts, the World Championships and the Nordic Championships. He was Freestyle Dog Of The Year (the most winning dog in Denmark that year) twice.

Doggie was (along with my Whisper) on the Danish Gold Team, which won the Heelwork To Music World Championship back in 2010  and she has won several Gold Medals since then. She was HTM Dog Of The Year 2012.

And Cookie was (again along with my Whisper) on the Danish Team, which won the first Nordic HTM Championship ever. It was in 2009.

They still enjoy challenges and the fun of training, so we make sure that they do not feel left out, when we meet for training. They don't work as much as the younger dogs, but they usually get to do something. We have learned a lot from these dogs and we have had so many amazing adventures with them.

See you tomorrow
