The Great Christmas Tree Festival

This is the fourth year of The Great Christmas Tree Festival at St. John's Church in Kanresborough.
There were over 70 Christmas Trees of wide ranging designs and creativity on display. The trees are all designed and created by local schools, organisations, businesses and families. You can vote for your favourite trees in the Childrens and Adults categories and winners are announced at the end of the week.
As it is now December, it is time to get into the Christmas spirit!

In the first of today's extras we have:
    1) 'Let it snow' by the Town House Salon
    2) 'Ticket to ride' by the Old Ticket coffee shop, complete with model trains whizzing round. Someone has made a lot of journeys to save all those tickets!

In the second extra we have:
    1) 'Santas snowflake tree' by Knaresborough Library Craft Group.
    2) 'The Lavvytree' by Knaresborough Bell Ringers.

My first vote was for 'Tinsel and Turkey' by Aspin Park Early Years Group, which is the lower left tree on the main picture. I liked the feathery turkeys and little pigs in blankets they had made.
My other vote for the favorite entry from the adults was 'The Lavvytree' in the second extra. (says a lot for my sense of humour I suppose....) There is a serious side to this entry, as they have twinned this loo with a loo in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to raise awareness of the Toilet Twinning Initiative which raises money for people in poverty stricken countries who do not have access to a flushing loo.
