Christmas Shopping

We left home at 9.15am, and the dog sitter was due to come round before lunch, so the boys wouldn’t be on their own for long. The weather and the traffic was horrendous for the first part of our journey, so it was almost 12pm when we arrived at Bicester Outlet Village.

I’d suggested we stop off at Bicester seeing as we were passing, and I’m glad we did as we managed to finish our Christmas shopping as well as getting a new pair of work shoes for Alan and some ankle boots for me, from Clark’s.

We had a quick lunch at Itsu before getting back in the road and the next port of call is mum’s. We’re going to collect her suitcase and Christmas presents as she’s coming away with us at Christmas and it’ll make her journey down to us much easier without luggage. Unfortunately the traffic is still bad so we’re not going to get to her until 5pm, and we have a table booked for dinner with Alan’s parents in Warrington at 7.15pm. It’s about an hour from where mum lives to Warrington and at that time we’ll get caught in even more traffic, so it’s going to be a quick turnaround!

As we’re out late tonight, we’re staying at the Travelodge near Rachel’s and we’ll go round to hers tomorrow morning after Scarlett has gone to school.

Anyway, we’ve now come off the motorway and are heading across country as it was at a standstill! And now we have sleety weather with a severe weather warning - there’s lots of snow forecast apparently!
