The Whys Man

Behind the scenes

Today, it's St Andrew's Secondary, Glasgow and the drama club, a group of very committed S3 and S2 pupils working on a dramatic presentation inspired by George Wyllie and his work.

Last week, they spent the time investigating the artist, finding out about him and his work, listening to The Paper Boat Song. This week they were discussing their own ideas, suggesting how those ideas might be presented, who would do what, what technology they'd need at the venue.

The venue is the Mitchell in Glasgow where the pupils will be performing their presentation as part of the young people's opening reception.

They worked through their lunch-break, and had just enough time to try out how one small part might work. Up on the screen was a list of all the lunchtime and after school rehearsals they'll be putting in before 2nd November.

Great ideas, great discussion and they're certainly going to make it work.
