Clear path

Yesterday our school, like many across the country, was closed due to the bad weather.  However conditions are a lot better today, and the groundsmen/caretakers have done a magnificent job of clearing the car park and paths around the school and gritting and salting them, so the school opened again.

I decided not to drive in as our road is still pretty bad (it is never gritted), but I think walking was probably more difficult than driving.  The compacted snow on the footpaths could be very slippery, but I managed to get in and get home again without falling. 

I do need to get the car out this evening, though, to get to a Christmas meal with my fellow swimmers.
