Recipe for a Perfect Christmas...

Ingredients

A healthy son
A cheeky Lola
A beautiful helper Elf
A wonderful husband
Lots of love, laughter and fun

Mix together thoroughly and enjoy with some chilled, sparking Prosecco and Belgian chocolate :-)))

What a truly lovely day.  So much to be thankful for.

Woke just before 9am without the alarm.  Bliss.

David took Lola for her morning walk while I got showered and dressed.  Alan was a complete lazy bones and didn't show any signs of wanting to get up till after 11am.

Beautiful Elf (Christine) arrived at 12 noon laden with gifts from her and from Alan's PA Ally!  Ally had also sent a huge bag full of home made passion fruit cheesecakes, red velvet cheesecakes and chocolate sponge and cream cakes (all little individual servings.  Her dad's a caterer and he'd sent these for us.  Enough to feed 20 guests!)  So kind!

Alan appeared just as Christine was taking her jacket off so Christmas kisses all round and we went into Alan's sitting room to gasp at the amount of gifts underneath the Christmas tree.  Santa was as generous as ever!

Lola joined us and had a ball being official paper shredder,  in between checking out her Christmas pressies.  She was a wee star and kept us all amused.

It took so long to open all our pressies, we didn't have lunch till after 3pm but we were all in relaxed mode and didn't feel the need to hurry.

Much to my delight Alan decided he wanted to have potatoes, roast beef and gravy for dinner (been a while since he's eaten dinner) so while David took Lola for her early evening walk, I helped Alan with his dinner.

After that I got our dinner organised (blinis with creme fraiche and smoked salmon, Chateaubriand with dauphinoise potatoes, carrots and green beans followed by some of Ally's dad's delicious desserts.  We sat down to eat dinner at 9.15pm!  LOL!

Now that is a laid back day!  :-))

So many blips I could have chosen but this one taken just before the gift opening commenced with Alan still in his pjs, summed up the relaxing vibe of the day for me :D

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and hope your Christmas Day was everything you wished it to be xx
