Market Corner--Paris 13th

A back view of the Maison Blanche street market, which is held Thursdays and Sundays for several blocks along the Avenue d'Italie (marked by the building in the background; see the map for the precise location).This aroused my curiosity.  Using the tabulations in our little book with maps of Paris's 20 arrondissements I found 78 markets altogether in the city--15 in the nine innermost districts and 63 in the eleven outer ones (10 through 20), which are larger in size and much more residential. We are in the 13th arrondissement, which has six markets; the biggest is on the Boulevard  Auguste Blanqui,  which occurs on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday; we often go on Sunday.
