Pantomime

Pantos are often a way of introducing children to live theatre.  Now that my children are adults, we have haven't been to a panto for years.  However, friends were closely involved in an amateur production of "Mother Goose" and we decided to support them and go along to see what they were up to.

There were no children in the audience this evening.  I think most people were friends and supporters of members of the company.  We weren't sure what to expect, but the performance turned out to be well written, well designed and full of fun.  A little sound reinforcement for the singing might have helped but, apart from that, it was well produced and performed - particularly by our friend who played the lead role.  He turned out to be a natural, confident performer with great presence on the stage.

A pleasant and - dare I say it - surprisingly enjoyable evening.
