Julia Levy is the daughter of Fedor Mikhailichenco (1907—1993) who was a Russian Righteous Among the Nations. Fedor was a prisoner in the concentration camp of Buchenwald and saved the life of a small Jewish boy Yurchik (born in 1937), who later became the Chief Ashkenazi rabbi of Israel, Israel Meir Lau.

She spoke today at the Holocaust Memorial Day Youth Event in St Mungo's Museum of Religious Life and Art, Glasgow
