Urban fox: street art in Glasgow

By lunchtime today I reached the end of the journal paper manuscript that I have been editing over the past couple of days. Now it's back to my co-authors for query-checking. They need to take a look at it because my recasting of some of the content exposed holes in the text (mainly missing breakdowns of percentages from aggregated survey response figures, which Iris needs to dig up from her spreadsheet). I also added some extra analysis of the findings, but I need to be certain that the others agree with the conclusions that I have drawn here. Hopefully we'll soon have everything done and Iris can upload the final version to the system early next week. That will leave one more paper of the seven to be reviewed, edited, and resubmitted.

After lunch I zipped across to Glasgow on the train to meet Candy and Laura for a cup on tea at the City Halls. Laura and I stayed on afterwards to watch the finals of the competition to find the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician 2018.

It was a fantastic show. All the finalists were superb: Rory Matheson (piano - YouTube clip here); Hannah Rarity - (voice - web site here); Alexander Levack (whistles/pipes - YouTube clip here); Amy Papiransky (voice - web site here); and David Shedden (bagpipes - YouTube clip here). At the end of the show Hannah Rarity was declared the winner. (The programme was broadcast live. If you would like to hear all the performances, the show is available on the BBC Radio Scotland web site.)

My blip is of some fantastic street art in Ingram Street car park next to the City Halls.

Exercise today: walking (10,565 steps)
