Nobody Left Home Hatless

It was TT’s turn to go to work early today.  I had to get BB organised and out the door early too, as I was giving a  friend a lift this morning.  We made it all in good time and even got a seat on the train.  I had a busy day at work, catching up with a few things, but not managing to get on with the piece of work that has been on my to do list all week.  It will have to wait until next week now.

Picking BB up proved expensive tonight, as they were selling things for charity at after school club.  I came away with a key ring – for BB, and a lovely wee homemade lavender bag.

We then had to rush home, get changed and head back out to football.  I went for a  walk while BB was at training.  I walked to the supermarket and did a bit of shopping, under the pretext of keeping warm, but by the time we got back home, I was freezing.

I went out at lunchtime to get some fresh air, and ended up wandering up the Royal Mile.  I spied a few of the Stars and Stories quotations.  This one is in the window of a kilt makers.  In The Golden Fleece, Muriel Spark writes: “Even the poor women of the then High Street slums wore black shawls which covered their heads.”  Today would have been Muriel Spark’s 100th birthday.
