Bowshot Wood (widwed070218)

My last week of hosting Wide Wednesday and I have managed to photograph somewhere I have passed by many times and thought 'there might be a blip in there' and it turns out there are several :-)

Bowshot Wood is at the top of Frizz hill, between Kineton and Wellesbourne and next to the Fosse Way.  Quite open in places so the sun streams through the trees and makes shadows on the ground.  Plenty of fallen trees too for some foreground and the bare upper branches give a view of the blue sky in winter.   I've not yet managed to find out where the name comes from, although it is not an uncommon name for a wood so I'm assuming there is a reason.

Two portrait format images combined together and then cropped.

As I'm at work until late today and tomorrow I'll go through the entries and most likely post the results on Friday morning.
