The old and young

There are several Paulowina trees on the island at my grandparents house. They have beautiful purple flowers in spring, and large heart shaped seed pods in the fall. I use them in Christmas arrangements sometimes. Here are the old seed pods and the new seed pods hanging from the tree. I like the way they look together.
We took my mother to the ortho doctor today to get a cortisone shot in her knee. Sure hope it will help while we wait for the go ahead on knee surgery.
