Foxy Friday

The fox went out on a chilly night,
he prayed to the Moon to give him light,
for he'd many a mile to go that night
before he reached the town-o, town-o, town-o,
he had many a mile to go that night
before he reached the town-o.......*

Snow on the bedroom window when we awoke and a smattering on the hills, and chilly but bright. Foxy visitors abounding - first Fergal arrived, full of mischief and piercing eyes, eating up the bread scattered for the birds. He had a little chill in the sunshine and watched me intently. Fineen has since arrived - separately and is looking hopeful outside the conservatory door. I reckon she's be in, in front of the fire in a flash.

* This takes me back - did anyone else gaily sing this at school? Not very pc these days I suspect. Here's Laura Veirs giving it a go -  The Fox
