Yoke

MWIS (Mountain Weather Information Service) scared me by forecasting -4C but would feel like -18C, with wind and snow showers. I was almost put off even getting out of bed, but fortunately, in reality it was nothing like that cold.

In extras I’ve posted the view of Windermere first thing. And that is exactly how the day continued. Stunningly clear.

I walked up Yoke (706m) from Windermere. I thought I’d have to stop when I reached the snow line, but whilst it was a little icy under foot, it wasn’t too bad.

Philosophy Friday
At Orrest Head (just above Windermere) the view was splendiferous and I found the following words on both a gateway and a bench:

Thou who hast given me eyes to see
And love this sight so fair
Give me a heart to find out thee
And read thee everywhere
