Wanderings & Witterings

Auchinstarry

At one point during this morning's walk with Cumbernauld & Kilsyth Ramblers I asked a few of my fellow Ramblers, "Is it still the case that 1001 cleans a big, big carpet for less than half-a-crown?"

It says much for the age of our midweek Ramblers that some of them actually got the reference to the 1960's commercial!

Anyway, this is Blip 1001 for me, and thank you for all the comments, faves and stars on yesterday's milestone.

Our Tuesday walk was slightly shortened due to the underfoot conditions being muddy in some places and slippier than we would have liked in others (see extra). However, it stayed dry and the sun even came out towards the end - much better conditions than we all had expected.

We started and finished at Auchinstarry Marina and took in some of the paths in Nethercroy Wood (although we didn't proceed to the top of Croy Hill as we would have liked) as well as walking along the Forth & Clyde Canal for a bit. All done and dusted in less than two hours. Time to go home and, after a shower and a change of clothes, make some pancakes.
