Meeting friends.

Today I met up with two ex colleagues. Marita, left, is originally from South Africa and has now moved to the Cumbrian coast but as it is half term she has come back and is helping another ex colleague pack up to return to South Africa due to ill health. It was Marita that introduced me to Boboti, SA spiced mince which I have made a couple of times.
It was bitterly cold out despite the sun. A day when the idea of South Africa is certainly most appealing. The lady returning is going to Wilderness on the Garden Route. A very nice little spot so I wish her well.

I picked Dot up, on the left, and drove down to Saltaire to have lunch at Salts Diner. It was busy of course but it is a favourite place and we had a very nice lunch. The blip shows our incredulity at the size of Marita's pizza. Would she eat it all? No she got a doggy bag!

We had a great catch up but slightly bitter sweet as there used to be four of us at the table and when we met here last Easter we had still had our dear friend Jackie who sadly left us last July.

Meeting for coffee/lunch with friends in a favourite place has to be one of life's greatest social pleasures.
