thanks to KangaZu for getting me out of my comfort zone - i have been finding it increasingly hard to leave home.  but today i put the Radish in the car and went to find a favourite tree.....it had vanished, but on a very circuitous route back i found another that i felt a worthy replacement.

for a long time we have had a nesting pair nearby - clearly full of confidence that they are safe on these cliffs and quite able to cope with us locals and the many visitors.  some time ago now, we were on the beach (mothers with young children) in the early evening and were told by non-local 'Wardens' that we had to leave because of the peregrines......
needless to say we carried on paddling and swimming until we felt it time to take our own young home.  the peregrines were not bothered by us one bit. (this was probably 20 years ago).  the nesting site continues to be used.
