Oeil De Perdrix

My daughter knows that I love champagne and birds so her Mothering Sunday gift was perfect. :) Eye of partridge has historically been used to describe the colour of certain rosé wines. I was sad to discover it comes from the light salmon hue the bird's eye takes on in its death throes. :( The partridge in question is the red-legged or French partridge. They do live in the UK but are introduced. I photographed a trio at Lodge Farm a while back. https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2238074989003671856

We had a lovely mini meet in our S2000s, my daughter in her Silverstone, with my granddaughter and granddog on board and me in my Indy Yellow. We took Frankie dog to the Dog Dip at Panshanger Park and had a picnic on the bench. (Extras) We all thoroughly enjoyed it and had the park pretty much to ourselves. :) Big smile coming back under the railway bridge when we dropped down the gears for aural pleasure.
