Regeneration

Hartnup Street, just opposite Anfield Stadium is not one of the streets that is likely to be demolished to make way for "New Improved Anfield". Rather this is the result of a housing regeneration scheme gone bad. A ridiculous plan to demolish perfectly good houses and build other ones in their place. That won't happen now because the funding has been pulled by those goons down south. In the meantime a perfectly good community has been dismantled and forgotten about.

I'm sure it's great for the kids from the local school to have their work blown up big and displayed in public. After all, it's not their fault; they'll just inherit the mess. But pretty pictures don't hide the shameful carnage that screws with people's lives.

You can see what the street looked like 3 years ago when Google mapped it. Is it any wonder we have so little faith in those who purport to run the country?
