Campaigning everywhere (almost)i

I don’t claim to have campaigned everywhere in Scotland but sometimes it does feel like it.

Tonight I was in Johnstone to speak at a Brexit meeting organised by the local MSP , my friend and colleague Tom Arthur.

Walking from the station in the fading light of a lovely winter’s evening I recognised this bandstand from the Paisley South by -election of 1990 for it is the only place in Scotland , I think , that I have ever been confronted by National Front activists leafleting and of course doing so in a very aggressive manner.

But it was a far more civilised exchange of views at the event tonight.
