Phew

The big promotions committee day. 8 hours of non stop discussion and debate around cases.... whacked by the end of it but then had to go on to lecture and dinner.
David Willetts talking about his new book on university education. He was delighted to stand in a Scottish university and say that Marx didn’t approve of free university education.
On to a dinner afterwards with him and an interesting mix of people. Lovely food, good conversation - just as well as it gave me a second wind and I felt quite energised (til I collapsed into bed!)
